Good Late
Victorian mahogany and satinwood inlaid Carlton
House desk in the Sheraton Revival style with
central drawer over kneehole opening flanked by a
pair of serpentine fronted drawers on each side.
Green
leather gilt tooled writing surface with a pair of
top drawers and upstand over five drawers and square
tapering legs with brass castors.
This desk
is a very elegant, good quality piece, using well
figured mahogany of a rich colour and with satinwood
inlay, including fan inlay to the corners of the
drawers. The handles are ormolu (gilded brass) and
the castors are also original.
There are
no breaks or cracks anywhere and the piece is in
very good original condition with a good rich colour
and patina.
