A good Regency rosewood pole screen with a height
adjustable screen inset with a floral tapestry panel
held on a ring turned pedestal and tripartite
platform base with thumbnail carving on bun feet.
Pole
screens like this were used in the 18/19th c by
ladies to protect their complexions from the heat of
the fire.
