Large 18th c French Engraving of 'Madame Pompadour'
 

Large 18th Century mezzotint engraving of Madam Pompadour entitled 'Les deux Confidentes' of Madame Pompadour and a friend in an idyllic rural setting.

The inscription reads Tire du Cabinet de Madame la Marquise de Pompadour, Dame du Palais de la Reine engraved by F. Boucher.

The engraving is in good condition for its age and shows the original plate marks within the frame.  The edges  of the paper beyond the plate marks are slightly torn with age.  The engraving is housed in a later 19th c wooden frame which is in good condition with a moulded gilt inner edge.
