Good Georgian Mahogany
Pembroke Table
This is a
very elegant Georgian table with a rectangular top
and reeded edges in a well figured flame mahogany over
an oak-lined frieze
drawer and opposing dummy drawer on slender square tapering legs.
There are a few
old woodworm holes in the mahogany supports for the drop flaps,
which are not fresh, but have been treated in any case as a
precaution.
The brass
castors are original but the handles are recent replacements in the correct style for
the piece.
There are no
breaks in the legs or cracks in the top and the drop down flaps are
not warped at all, which can be a problem with Pembroke tables of
this age.
This table is
a very good quality, elegant piece with good rich colour and
figuring.
