Superb Victorian rectangular stool c.1860/70 in solid walnut with serpentine shaped framework, slender cabriole legs and carved acanthus leaf detail to the shoulder of the legs. It is a perfect size to use as a small stool in a sitting room or as a dressing table stool.
The stool has been traditionally re-upholstered with horsehair and webbing and recovered in a good woven silk damask by the Gainsborough Silk Weaving Company in shades of ivory, sand, grey and rust, edged with a scroll gimp in matching colours.
The stool has been well looked after and is in excellent condition. The joints are sound and the legs are not wobbly at all and there are no cracks or repairs to the frame. This elegant stool is in excellent original condition and is ready to use and enjoy!!
